Fall Fun

A couple of weeks ago, my mom came down and we tried to go to Gardner Village, but it was so busy and crowded, that we went to Wheeler Farm instead. The boys had so much fun!
Here is the chicken that Porter ran down. This was as close as he could get, but I thought that was pretty good.

We fed the ducks and geese. This one took the bread right out of Josh's hand.
They were swarming a bit. I finally had to take the boys out because the geese were as tall as the boys and was worried they would peck at their little faces.

We were able to go to Gardner Village during UEA weekend.

Our Morning Walk To School

Fortunately, pre-school is just a little way down the street from our house and since the weather has been so nice, we usually walk to school in the morning. Here are some of the things we see on our way.....
First we always stop at the bush in front of the neighbor's house to oogle at the spiderwebs, talk about house nasty they are and speculate if any gigantic spiders will jump out and eat us.
We pass by the rose bushes. We love to stop and smell the roses, but we are very careful not to let the sharp thorns (or knives as Bryson calls them) to scratch us.
We get in some exercise by climbing up the fire hydrant and jumping off of it.
We find a few good rocks in the gutter that can be kicked.
We do some more climbing and jumping on this giant tree stump that the neighbor cut down this summer. It really is huge, almost as tall as Bryson.
We look both ways when we cross the street and take careful precautions to jump over the water in the gutter and not in the water in the gutter.
We stop by the rain grate and peer inside, wondering if any alligators live in there, or maybe small people.
Our walk is never complete without running from tree to tree to avoid the glaring sun in our eyes, because after searching all morning long, Porter couldn't find his sunglasses.
And, in honor of mom being home during the days now because of her new job, we even get our hair combed and sprayed each day for class so we don't look like homeless children.
In other news from the Ramsey house, Porter has discovered all the essentials for proper cowboy apparel.... Hat, Bandanna, and Lasso. He wanted to wear his spiderman golashes, but I haven't got them out for winter yet, so he doesn't have any boots, but the rest is prefect!!
Bryson occasionally finds time to play when brother isn't home (usually when Porter is at school). Here is what he made right before falling asleep in a heap on the floor, a precarious tower of playdough accessories.

Happy Birthday Porter

Happy Big # 5 Porter!!
I made Porter a campfire cake, in theme with his birthday party.

We had a party and I decorated the Primary room for our campout. It turned out AWESOME!!
The kids all brought a pillow and blanket for their sleeping bags. We made a campfire (pretend) by gathering the rocks and branches that just "happened" to be laying around our capsite.
Then we played "Pin the marshmellow on the roasting stick".
Then we went for a hike and found glow sticks, which were a HUGE hit!
We went fishing.

We watched a movie in the dark with our glow sticks. I put black paper on the windows with holes in it so it looked like stars. It was great. Then Porter opened his presents.
There was a spiderman theme, which worked great since Porter is CRAZY about spiderman. Thank you Grammy and Alison for the fantastic presents. Porter LOVED them!! It was a great party and great birthday #5!!
