A tradition for many... not so much for us.

I LOVE to go see the lights at temple square. I think it is so fun to see all the decorations and enjoy the cold weather and walk around seeing the temple in such a different aspect. My husband on the other hand.... he doesn't. He hates the cold and driving downtown and walking around and thinks it all looks the same every year, so why bother going. Hence, we haven't been since Porter was one. This year I convinced him to go and we all had a lovely time.
The new Deseret Book store in City Creek has a large store front and the boys thought this train thing was pretty cool, which it was.
This was the only picture I could get the boys to pose for. They are not big on picture taking.
There were many nativity scenes set up and I took some pictures of them.

The old ZCMI building is now owned by Macy's. They decorated their windows this year. They did giant tree ornaments made out of candy. It was hard to get a good picture of them through glass and tons of people.
This one is Santa. I loved his beard. It is all mini candy canes.
This is a beehive.
This is a green ornament (Porter's favorite).
This one is really hard to see. It is little scenes inside the boxes and a train that circled the bottom. It was really cool, especially since it was all made from candy.
The temple was beautiful and I always get teary when I see it with the lights.
It was hard to get a good picture of the nativity on the reflecting pond. But it was really nice in front of the temple.
