Belated Birthday

Because I am a terrible daughter (I'm sure it has nothing to do with how busy I am) I forgot my dad's birthday. So, with belated birthday wishes, I present to you

LITTLE KNOWN FACTS ABOUT DAD

#1: Dad is secretly a cowboy and was actually born in the 1800's (he just looks really good for his age).

#2: Because dad is secretly an ancient cowboy, of course his favorite movie is "Tombstone". I think he may have actually been there when it all went down. That is why he likes the movie so much. It brings back the good old days.

#3: Dad's Favorite outfit is coveralls. If it had butt flaps, he would love them even more!

#4: Dad's least favorite pet, CATS. Why? Because they're sneaky. (I don't know what he's talking about. I don't think cats are sneaky at all. HaHa)

#5: Dad's favorite pet. Dogs. Why? Because they are.

#6: Dad's favorite book: Doctor Dan The Bandage Man

Why? Because Dr. Dan is secretly a cowboy.

#7: Dad's first favorite way to torture his family of all girls:
There were many times growing up that dad would holler for one of us to come "help" him. With much grumbling and despair, we would grab a pair of shoes and come to the back door. Dad would take one look at us and say "You're going to need different shoes." He would say this because he knew that it would only be moments before we would look like this. . .

#8: Dad's second favorite way to torture his family of all girls:
Growing up we had cows. I really liked them when they were on the other side of the fence from me. But, sometimes, there was "herding" that needed to be done. A cow would get out of his pasture, a cow needed to go to the vet, or if dad was just bored and needed some fun, he would decide it was time to "herd" something.
We would march out to the field, usually in the shoes posted above, and he would hand us a long stick. Then give us a warning, "Do not let the cow get by you." Armed with a stick didn't seem nearly enough when a 1,200 lb beast was running at you with terror in its eyes, but dad assured us it would be fine. Usually crying was involved. However, in the end, no one was ever trampled by any cows. If that is because the stick did its job (or we ran in terror) I don't know. This picture below doesn't really capture the moment, but it was the best I could find.

Happy Birthday Dad! I love you!
PS. If you have any herding that needs to be done, give me a call. My boys will be ready in a year or two.
