Happy Birthday Porter

Happy Big # 5 Porter!!

I made Porter a campfire cake, in theme with his birthday party. 

 

We had a party and I decorated the Primary room for our campout. It turned out AWESOME!! 

The kids all brought a pillow and blanket for their sleeping bags. We made a campfire (pretend) by gathering the rocks and branches that just "happened" to be laying around our capsite. 

Then we played "Pin the marshmellow on the roasting stick".  

Then we went for a hike and found glow sticks, which were a HUGE hit! 

We went fishing. 

 

We watched a movie in the dark with our glow sticks. I put black paper on the windows with holes in it so it looked like stars. It was great. Then Porter opened his presents. 

There was a spiderman theme, which worked great since Porter is CRAZY about spiderman. Thank you Grammy and Alison for the fantastic presents. Porter LOVED them!! It was a great party and great birthday #5!! 

Last Swim of the Summer

I took the kiddos up to my mom's house for one last dip in the pool.

 

      

If you look very closely you will see porter picking  cherry tomatoes in the jungle garden that is our back yard.

Bryson was EXHAUSTED.

Porter will be 5 next year and in his brief 5 yrs he has broken 4 teeth. It was hard to get a good picture, but the 2 teeth you see were both broken when he collided with brother while jumping on the bed. The first one broke the front off the tooth and the 2nd is nearly broken in half. The way we are going, we are making our dentist RICH.

Upon entering the bathroom I found this.... 

A board on and tissue on the toilet. Upon closer inspection I found this..... 

A smashed spider and.... 

Spider guts. Porter smashed it with his board and tried to clean it off, but only got a couple of legs and decided that was enough. I guess he thought that if he left it there I would take care of it. He was mistaken.
