Memorial Day

Since I was a teen, I have had held a special place in my heart for those who have served and died for our freedom. I remember driving to work and sobing in the car when I heard on the radio that the second tower have been hit by an airplane and watching on television as people threw themselves from those burning buildings. I remember how those feelings came back when I worked at Morgan Stanley and reviewed a death certificate of someone who died in the one of the Twin Towers.

It isn't something that I can explain, but I think I will always bet tears in my eyes when I hear the song Taps played. I will always be reverent when I say the pledge or allegiance and I will always have respect for those people who were brave enough to do what had to be done to preserve my freedom and the freedom of my two little boys. Perhaps this may sound cliche, but I ask each of your to remember what you have.

Thanks Dad. I love you and appreciate what you did for me. I am proud to be the daughter of a Veteran. You taught me how great it is to live in Utah. You taught me to love the mountains and the quiet of a country night, to listen to the crickets and see the stars. I am so grateful for all you have done for me in my life and for the service you gave to our country.

I am so grateful and humbled by what I have and will take a few moments to reflect on that.

If you are brave enough to watch it, go to You Tube and look up "I believe- a 9/11 tribute". It is really touching. Also, below are some picture that I really appreciate at well.

Oh Shit!

Last night we were watching the movie "I Am Number 4". In it is a large dog type creature that runs about. When the little dog transformed into the big scary dog, Porter, so innocently said, "Oh Shit!"
"Porter!" I said, shocked. "That is a bad word."
He turned to me, with big eyes and said, "Well, that was a BIG dog!"
So funny!
