Unfortunately, Bryson must sleep sometime and therefore missed the flames of horror (otherwise known as fireworks). While I screamed at Porter in horror as he continued to run towards the street in delight, I also took a couple of pictures.
This was a really fun weekend. On Saturday, we went up to visit my mom and dad. We went to the West Point City parade (which even though I grew up in West Point, I don't think I have ever been too before). Then, we spent the day at my parents house. The boys always love to go to farm and see the horses, chickens and cat. I've taken so many pictures of them doing those things that I didn't take any this time. That night we watched the fireworks from my parents back yard.
Monday, my mom came down to our house and we went to the children's museum that is now the Discovery Gateway. When I was a kid it was off of Beck Street and was not nearly as neat as it is now. The boys had so much fun and we got to ride the train. We had such a good time. Thanks Grammy!!
Thanks to Auntie Alison, Porter has a "new" bike. Words cannot express the love and adoration that he has for his bike. The screaming and tantrum that is involved when we put it away at night can. He is still learning to steer, but pedaling is no longer a problem. It's especially easy when he drags the bike to the top of the sloped driveway and free falls down into the street when we are not looking, screaming in delight the entire time and laughing as cars swerve to not hit him. Ok, he hasn't actually ran out in front of any cars, but I think that is every mother's nightmare. Needless to say, "bike time" has been cut very short and only when someone can keep a close eye on him. Watch out Lance Armstrong, Porter Ramsey is on his way.
I was raised in Northern Utah. When I was five our family moved out to the country. Being raised away from the city taught me many lessons, but one of those that I value the most is my love of books. They have been my education, my entertainment and my friends.
